SECURITY 
The New Zealand Security Association
(NZSA) has established an easy to identify Star Rating system
for vehicle security systems - the more Stars, the better the
security.
All Star rated products have
been verified that they have been independently tested
and certified to meet or exceed the Australia/New Zealand, UK
Thatcham or other equivalent Standards.
All NZSA Star rated vehicle
security systems display the above labels on both
the packaging and the owners manual.......it is your
guarantee that the product itself is Standards certified and
NZSA Star rated. A full list of Star rated products is shown
on the NZSA website.
Mongoose products that are Standards
certified and carry the NZSA Star rating label fully comply with
all the requirements. The product must be fitted as supplied. Any
changes, installation method or changes to software programming,
that affects the way the product operates will make the Star rating
void.
INSTALLATION:
For the Star rating to apply, the security system must
be fitted by an NZSA registered installer.
We only recommend NZSA registered
installers or those companies with which we have had a long
association. Those Mongoose dealers are listed on this website
under 'Where To Buy'.
Installation carried out by anyone
other than an authorised Mongoose dealer voids any product
warranties.
NZSA installers have shown that they
have proven experience, passed written examinations, has had a
police criminal security check and met other strict legal
qualifications. All NZSA registered installers carry a photo ID
card - ask to see it so you know the person
working on your vehicle is authorised and qualified to do so. A
full list of registered installers is shown on the NZSA
website.
Most Star rated vehicle security
systems typically take between 3 to 4 hours to install to a
professional level. If you are quoted less than this time, we would
suggest that it may be an indcation of a lower quality of
workmanship.

fitted by a non-NZSA registered person cancels the Star rating and
therefore may not be accepted by your insurance company.
