A shock sensor waits for the car to be hit. A glass break sensor doesn't — it has its own microphone tuned to the specific sound of glass breaking, so it triggers the moment a window goes, not when something strikes the bodywork.
That matters because a window can be broken quietly enough that an impact sensor never fires. The two sensor types cover different attacks, which is why the higher specification systems use both.
Fitted as standard on all Mongoose 'G' models. The MGB8000 suits the MAP70, M80 and MAP80 series, and can also be connected to factory fitted alarm systems, though extra components may be required.
